            Waterweed™ has been in the works for almost 20 years. I was excited by its realistic appearance in the water as well as its fish attracting tendencies. I was catching fish out of it within days of immersion; however I soon discovered a pitfall. Within 3-4 weeks of deployment, silting and algae would build up on the weed and cause it to muck into the bottom. I shelved the idea for years however it often re-entered my mind as to the potential of this concept.  
            I’ve lived on Lake Lanier for almost my entire adult life and those familiar with this fishery are aware of man made brush piles on this lake. They are an absolute necessity if you want to compete in bass fishing tournaments. I have witnessed the devastating effects of tree cutting along our shorelines through the years and have seen small islands literally disappear as a result of cut trees and high boat traffic. This furthered my search and thought process for an environmentally safe, easy, and movable fish attracting device (F.A.D.). As I became more familiar with Lanier’s big spotted bass and their tendency to suspend, the thought occurred to me to float the weed off the bottom. 
            We recommend removing the F.A.D. after use. However, if it’s left in the same area for a few weeks and will slime, the grass will simply invert but continue to attract fish. The integral float will keep it off the bottom even slimed up. It is easily hooked with a small grappling hook, pulled to the surface and taken home to be rinsed out, dried out and re-submerged elsewhere. The possibilities with this product are endless. The rings are modular allowing one to attach them in multi-configurations to create an incredible fish attracting habitat that is easy to deploy AND remove. No more trashed boats and motors from cutting and hauling trees. Waterweed™ is an easy and light device used for attracting fish.
